CONE-ILLOGICAL

A collection by Dean Proudfoot

The humble traffic cone. Bright orange. Universally cursed. Almost never questioned.

Cone-illogical began not in a studio but in traffic — hours spent stuck behind stop-go men, watching orange plastic monuments quietly boss everyone around. The artist, trapped in enforced stillness, started to see the cones differently. Less as practical objects. More as characters. Absurd. Authoritative. Oddly charismatic.

Over time, that stillness became the work itself. A collection born from waiting, watching, and negotiating escape through a landscape entirely designed by orange plastic.

Some things have all the power and none of the blame.
